Lori Schuerman, MPH, DNP, APNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Schuerman obtained her doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) with a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specialty from Idaho State University. She holds a Master of Public Health from A.T. Still University; BSN from Bellin College; and BS in clinical laboratory science from UW-Milwaukee. She has extensive healthcare experience, working in acute psychiatric mental health for several years as well as hospice nursing. Prior to nursing, Dr. Schuerman held several roles in the clinical laboratory including laboratory management and as a hematology specialist.
The focus of Dr. Schuerman’s practice is to provide general psychiatric services for clients 13 years and older. She is committed to establishing an alliance with her patient’s through careful listening; seeking to understand each patient’s perspective so meaningful discussions of core issues and treatment options can take place. Her goal for each patient is full restoration of functioning and remission of symptoms. Dr. Schuerman understands that problems are typically multifaceted and complex with biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects. Partnering with therapists at the Delta Center, Sherman Counseling, and those outside this system helps her better understand these aspects of each patient’s life and work with them as they move toward their goals of improved mental health.
When not in the office Dr. Schuerman spends free time with her husband and three dogs. She enjoys music, gardening, DIY projects, and traveling around the country to visit her 4 adult children and their families.
